Paragliding in the Dominican Republic’s Mountains

Greetings from the heart of the Dominican Republic — also known as the Cibao Valley. It’s been a while since I posted. I’ve been busy outdoors, running around the central highlands of the DR: bathing in waterfalls, mountain climbing, rafting down rivers and taking in breathtaking views! It’s a side of the Dominican Republic that few visitors get to see. I’ll share a few postcards soon and look for my tips in the next Moon Dominican Republic edition (2016).

In the meantime, above is a two-minute video of my paragliding experience this week in the mountain town of Jarabacoa — an unforgettable 30 minutes. It shows just how incredibly diverse this country’s landscape and geography are, well beyond miles of white sand beaches.
