    Description

This is your invitation to join the beta cohort of The Conscious Travel Storyteller, a live 6-week writing workshop for writers, content creators and tourism changemakers.

Whether you’re pitching publications, building your platform, or telling your community’s story—this experience will teach you how to:

    • Write travel stories that honor culture and place instead of extracting from it
    • Pitch stories that get published (and paid for)
    • Use storytelling to spark reflection, connection and change

This is storytelling for impact, taught by someone who’s done it for 15 years, while living across multiple countries and earning awards and bylines in top outlets.

It’s everything you need to transform your travel and lived experiences into stories that connect, inspire and empower places and people—and get you paid premium rates.

    Why I Created This Workshop

When I first started writing about the places I was visiting and living in—the cultural moments, the people and lessons—I didn’t see stories that reflected my experience which was multicultural, layered, and rooted in lived connection. Most travel content felt flat or disconnected from the realities on the ground. The nuance was missing.

So I built my journalism career doing the opposite—telling stories with care, grounded in real people, histories and impact. From Jamaica to Belize to the Dominican Republic, I learned how to tell the truth—and get paid doing it, while living abroad.

After 15+ years in this space (from law to full-time travel journalism at Bloomberg and Skift), I created The Conscious Travel Storyteller to give others the framework I wish I had: a system to write with purpose, pitch with confidence and share stories with cultural integrity.

This six-week live intensive is for writers, creators, NGO communicators and tourism changemakers who want to go deeper—telling stories that resonate, open minds and grow their platform, influence and income.

Because the most common things I hear are:

    • “I want to write stories that matter—but don’t know where to start.”
    • “I don’t know how to increase my visibility and influence through my writing!”
    • “I don’t know how to pitch these types of stories or get published.”
    • “I suffer from impostor syndrome.”
    • “How do I describe what I’m experiencing without perpetuating stereotypes?”

That’s why I created this course. It’s what I wish existed when I was starting out—and the one I now teach to help others write ethically, pitch confidently and get seen for their full voice and value.

So, what if your travel writing helped transform how others see it?

    Imagine If You Could:
✅ Create ethical travel stories that spark engagement and real connection
✅ Turn your meaningful experiences into powerful, conscious content
✅ Write stories that attract readers, editors, and brands who value impact
✅ Share your voice with confidence — and know it shapes how people travel

     And Maybe You’ve Also Had:
❌ Meaningful experiences you aren’t sure how to turn into compelling content for your platform
❌ Writing that doesn’t draw conscious consumers or brands quickly enough
❌ Feeling like your voice doesn’t matter or battling impostor syndrome
❌ A desire to get into more publications with your ethical travel stories
❌ A dream of being in community with like-minded folks who care about the places we visit and our impact on them

You’re most likely in the right place. But read on to make sure!

How Is This Different From Other Travel Writing Courses?

Most travel writing/storytelling courses are self-paced, pre-recorded, or of general application. They may teach structure or creative prompts, but they don’t go deep on conscious travel storytelling.

    This course is:

    • Live and interactive, with real-time feedback
    • Designed by someone who’s actually worked in travel journalism for 15 years, including every aspect possible, from guidebooks to branded content, reported stories, and five years full-time in newsrooms
    • Focused on storytelling with impact—without perpetuating clichés or extractive narratives
    • Geared toward writers who want to earn income from their work beyond media, while honoring people and place

You’ll leave with a story, a pitch, and the tools to keep going. Not just inspiration.
